September 10, 2021 Update

The State Route 316 Project has resumed. It began with some surveying and status assessment.

Newcomer Concrete out of Norwalk has returned to the village. They began on September 9th placing no parking signs and site preparations. On September 10th they began removing sidewalks on the east side of Long Street. This started at Station Street and they are moving South. They are also working at about 64 Long Street. After this excavation is completed, framing will occur followed by laying of concrete.

ODOT has arranged with Strawser Paving to begin works on West Main Street. The objective of Strawser will be to make concrete repairs on West Main Street on Monday and Tuesday, September 13th and 14th. They plan to complete the partial and full depth asphalt repairs on Thursday and Friday, September 16th and 17th. Their future objective will be pave the surface course asphalt early the week of 9/20. These road repairs would be necessary before paving can take place.

Please come back to this webpage for updates on the progress. Nicholson Construction who is representing the bonding company of the previous contractor has stated their objective is to complete this project this year.

September 3, 2021 ODOT Message

The surety plans to have a surveyor on site September 3 ,2021 to help assess the remaining work. They also plan to have a crew on site Wednesday or Thursday, September 8 or 9, to resume with curb removal on Long Street. ODOT  is working with their consultant to get a six-week look ahead. When they have information they will provide an update.

Village Council was updated on the status of the project on August 9 and 16, 2021

ODOT continues to work with obtaining a Contractor and working with AMAAZZ's Bonding Company.

August 3, 2021

Amaazz has been removed from the project. ODOT has no timeline of days for work. The bonding company from Amaazz is now engaged. ODOT will make additional efforts to address the milled surface on Main Street if they anticipate delays."I would try to emphasize that these efforts are being made to complete the project in a timeframe that Amaazz had demonstrated could not have been achieved previously."

Thanks.

Updated July 21, 2021

The State Route 316 Project has reached Long Street for installation of sidewalks, alleys, streets, and driveway approaches. As they reach each area, moving south to north, areas will be closed. Therefore, it will be necessary to find alternate places to park your vehicle or for pedestrians to walk. The eastside sidewalk will be open until the westside sidewalk is completed. That would be followed by the closing of the eastside sidewalk but you will be able to use the new westside sidewalk. During this process that same thing will happen as concrete work is occurring for alleys, streets, and driveways. You will be notified when you can to begin using those roadways or drives. As part of this process please refrain from parking on the street when road work is occurring. Signs will be posted. We appreciate you patience’s during this construction project. Thanks.
