Vikings get their 'Way'

Teays Valley students and administrators joined Ashville village officials in the ceremonial name-changing of Circleville Avenue to Viking Way Monday afternoon. The post office will recognize both names; however, superintendent Jeff Sheets said he hopes Viking Way will eventually become its sole name. Infant/Toddler Classroom Openings 97 Miller Avenue, Ashville

Early Head Start has an infant/toddler classroom located in Ashville that serves children ages 0 to 3 years. The full day program is open between the hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The classroom is staffed with two full time teachers and one classroom aide that care for eight infants and toddlers.  

Creative Curriculum is used when planning classroom activities. We welcome and support families with children who have special needs. Other services provided include nutrition assessments, developmental screenings and assessments, social and emotional observations and support to families who are working and/or attending school.

We currently have openings in the Ashville classroom and interested parties should call Tammy Smith, Family Services Coordinator at 740-474-9544, extension 100.

MORPC Walnut Creek Watershed

The Village of Ashville has been working with a group coordinated by MORPC on a balance growth plan involving the Walnut Creek Watershed. Ashville has developed a page to keep you informed about this project.   

The Walnut Creek Watershed Planning Partnership Balance Growth Plan is now available to read on line. Communities will be asked to consider "Resolutions of Support". That will be followed by State endorsement of the plan. Appendix C provides a list of State Inventory of why this plan is of benefit.
