Tracie N. Sorvillo took her oath of office before council's regular meeting on Monday, April 1, 2013. She will be serving out the remainder of Brian Stewart’s term which concludes at the end of 2013.
Mrs. Sorvillo has lived in Ashville for the last 12 years, is originally from the Village of McDonald in the Youngstown area. She states “It’s structured similar to Ashville, It’s about 20 miles outside of Youngstown. I graduated high school from there and then I went to Youngstown College.”
She majored in chemical engineering at Youngstown College. She has six years of quality experience where she worked as a point of contact for customers and a customer representative. From there, she has another six years working in health and safety, where she insured that people were up to date on their training. She has a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Devry University. She is currently enrolled at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.
She works at Ball Container LLC and in the past at Ashland, Inc., and Georgia-Pacific, Inc.
“I’m happy and excited to be able to bring my skills and knowledge to the village to make it a more enjoyable place to live, make it a better place to do business and make it a place for people to come home,” Sorvillo said. “I’m excited to be a part of this process and to be able to watch the village grow as my family grows.”
This focus on people is something she believes will help her in her new career, she said, as she plans to open her own financial planning business in November.
“Since I am more a relationship person, and a black and white person, my heart has always been more the relationship type," Sorvillo said. "That’s why I’ve decided to open a financial planning branch here in Ashville.”
Sorvillo is married, and her husband, Joseph Sorvillo, teaches in the Circleville City School District.
