The Ashville Police Department instituted an EMAIL HOTLINE in 2004, with the help of First Byte’s Michael Moore. This Hotline was established to provide a way to communicate to the police department criminal activity, for example: Theft Break-ins Drug Dealers Drug Abuse Under Age Drinking Domestic Violence Child Abuse Sexual Abuse, etc.

This address was created to be an anonymous email hotline to encourage communication to head off trouble. Parents, neighbors, brothers, sisters, friends, any residents who wants to report suspicious activity can leave a message and the police will respond with an investigation. This email address is not to replace 911. If criminal activity is actually occurring the best response would be an immediate dispatch from a 911 call.   The hotline is more an investigative tool for the Police Department. Chief George believes that the hotline will not only provide the police with more information but that information has the potential to reduce problems by a more proactive approach. It also allows for greater public participation because it will be treated as anonymous thus reducing fear of retribution. If trouble, or potential trouble is brewing, call 740-983-3112 or use our new email hotline This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  and report it. Helping us be a safer community.
